The Gladstone Tennis Club is a community conscious sports club in Central Auckland.  We are currently looking to undertake the development to bring our current facilities up to a safe standard and to cope with our growing membership.

In this project we plan to demolish a rundown unsanitary toilet block and build a new administration and coach’s office on the site.  This would also include storage and disabled toilet and shower facilities, in order to comply with Auckland Council regulations.  We also plan to upgrade the unsafe access to the club; bringing it all on to one level and making the club accessible to prams and wheelchairs.  In the existing clubhouse we will remove the coaches office on the ground floor and open up that area so it can be used as a space for youths or preschoolers. The kitchen facilities on the ground floor will also be upgraded.  By opening up this space we will be able to consider many requests we are receiving for other community groups to use our facilities.

The Tennis Club has become a central meeting place for the community and we have regular sporting and social functions.  We also regularly allow the Parnell District School, the local firemen and other sporting and non sporting groups use of our facility.
