One action-packed day of the highest quality tennis New Zealand has to offer!
The inaugural Gladstone FAST4 Showdown saw six of the top players in the country go head-to-head in a brand new concept sweeping world tennis by storm: with just FOUR rules, lightning-fast play and fans on the edge of their seats.
Don't miss out next year as we plan to recreate one of the best events of the Summer!
Put Saturday 11 December 2021 in your diary! We hope to see you there.
There are FOUR basic rule changes to standard tennis that will be used in the Giltrap Skoda Gladstone FAST4 Showdown:
Six of New Zealand's best players will compete in Round Robin play (singles), with two semi-finals and a final between the two players with the most points on the day.
*Our competition matches will be the best of three Fast4 sets. At 3-3 a tiebreaker is played to 5 points - at 4-4 there's a coin toss for serve, and the next point wins (no advantage).
We will also include POWER PLAY - where each player can elect ONE power play point in any match. This means at any time on their serve, the winner of the rally gets 2 points instead of 1.
A top-quality line-up of six of New Zealand's best players took up the first FAST4 challenge!
GATES OPEN: 10am
PLAY COMMENCES*: 11am
FINAL: 4PM (approx.)

The day will feature the Giltrap Skoda Gladstone FAST4 Showdown of six players competing in a Round Robin tournament of five rounds plus a final. These matches will be played over two courts.
In between Showdown matches will be the highly-anticipated Celebrity Clash which will see a hand-picked selection of Kiwi stars take to the court to face-off in an epic super-tiebreaker! Don't miss Dan Carter, Shapeshifter's Sam Trevethick, NZ No.1 tennis star Paige Hourigan and more going head-to-head in the clash of the (music, rugby, and tennis) titans!
Longstanding Gladstone Tennis Club sponsor Working Style is generously offering 2 x $500 vouchers for the best-dressed man and best-dressed woman at the Giltrap Skoda Gladstone Fast4 Showdown on Saturday!
Will it be tennis whites or tennis brights that turn the judge's head? Channel Wimbledon Centre Court fashion statements as you head to Parnell, knowing that style aficionado Dan Carter will be having his eye out for you, and there's a pair of winning vouchers up for grabs that can be used against any mens or women's made-to-measure suit from Working Style.

THE ACE PROGRAMME
ACE is an acronym for Aspirational Childhood Education, and we know it as a service winner in tennis.
The ACE Programme teaches life skills to disadvantaged children through the medium of tennis tuition. In 2021 our goal is to work with 100-120 children in decile 1 primary and intermediate schools in South and East Auckland.
The ACE Charitable Trust was established in 2019 by the International Lawn Tennis Club of New Zealand (ICNZ) to run the ACE Programme in New Zealand. ICNZ is an alumni club of past representative and ranked players from New Zealand.
The ACE Programme is a series of 8 lessons that combines basic tennis tuition with life skills such as respect, responsibility, honesty and resilience.
Our future aspirations are to run multiple courses throughout the country with a group of ACE Programme accredited coaches.
